Legacy teachers, staff and admin,
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we plan and prepare for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. As we shared with our families and staff on June 1 in this message, our task force has been working on a four-phased approach for returning to campus. We are now ready to share with you our Phase 2 plans.
Phase 2 Reopening Plans
Your health and safety is our top priority. As such, we have created procedures to ensure all employees are safe when returning to campus in July and August for Pre-Service. (As a reminder, you can review the Reporting Guide here, which details the specific dates you are expected to return.)
Please take a moment to closely review the following document, which outlines our Phase 1 procedures (effective June 1) and Phase 2 procedures (effective at the start of Pre-Service). Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 guidelines will be in effect upon your return.
As you may be aware, there is a potential that Legacy will be offering students the option to return to campus as normal on the first day of school, or to return as an online student for the 2020-2021 school year. Legislation must be passed before Legacy may formally offer this choice to families. If we are able to offer an online option to families, we will still expect our Legacy faculty and staff to return to campus on your scheduled date. Classroom teachers will not be expected to instruct online students. As we learn more from our state legislature about the possibility to offer a full online learning option for students, we will provide you additional information.
Thank you again for your dedication to supporting our Legacy community as we transition back to campus. If at any time you have a question or concern, please reach out to your principal immediately.
We look forward to seeing you back on campus soon.
Sincerely,

Nicole Kirkley
Superintendent
