Dear Legacy Teachers and Staff,
Earlier this evening, the Governing Board for Legacy Traditional Schools met to discuss the Arizona Department of Health Services guidance for reopening schools and how it applies to Legacy schools in Arizona.
After reviewing the guidance and the positive trends in the public health benchmarks for the counties in which Legacy schools reside, the Governing Board voted unanimously to:
- Reopen all Legacy campuses in Arizona for in-person learning on Monday, Aug. 24
- Approve Legacy’s Safe Return to School plans, including the two learning options (online and in-person) and our Mitigation Plan outlining our health and safety guidelines
On Monday, Aug. 17, all Legacy schools will be open for onsite support services. We will be using this time to practice our health and safety return measures with the students who will be on campus, including hand washing, wearing face coverings, and social distancing. By refining these protocols with a limited number of students, it will allow our schools to be even more prepared to welcome back students for in-person learning on Aug. 24.
The decision to begin in-person learning on Aug. 24, and the impact on students and teachers, was taken very seriously. Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our schools and our students.
Sincerely,

Nicole Kirkley
Superintendent
Legacy Traditional Schools
