301 Professional Development Details
- These hours must be:
- Pre-approved by campus administrator and properly documented (certificate, authorized signature, pre-approval form)
- Completed between May 31, 2019, to May 22, 2020
- At least 9 of these hours must be in the form of traditional professional development classes, workshops, or conferences outside of the regular school day. This would include Staff development classes, video webinars, online classes, conferences, the school arranged workshops or presentations. Additionally, any prep time for teaching an in-service at the request of a principal during school time equal to the amount of presentation time. (ie providing a breakout session during CultivatED)
- Up to 9 hours may be earned by participating in activities performed beyond the contract day and not otherwise compensated which supports student success and benefits the school environment. This may include activities such as participating in school committees, volunteering for non-mandatory school events, participating in internal validations, and mentoring fellow teachers.
- The following activities are not approved for 301 professional development hours:
- SEI classes, graduate level or other upper division classes that can be used for lateral movement.
- Non-mandatory LTS paid conferences or workshops
- Workshops and conferences not paid for by LTS, but attended during contract hours
- Any activities related to stipend paid positions will not count towards 301 (ex: coaching)
- Activities related to contractual obligations will not count towards 301 (ex: curriculum night, parent conferences, IEP meetings, PLC meetingss
